Kate Pierson, the flamboyant co-founder of The B-52s, is ready to part ways with her aptly nicknamed “Kate’s Lazy Cabin” — a rustic three-bedroom hideaway outside Woodstock, New York, now listed for $750,000.

The 1,334-square-foot cabin sits on two wooded acres, just five minutes from Woodstock’s tie-dye-tinged main street of shops and restaurants.

True to Pierson’s retro sensibilities, the circa-1952 property brims with mid-century character: wood-panelled rooms, exposed beams, hand-painted murals and a kitchen still kitted out with its original 1950s appliances.

Compass agent Diana Polack, who is representing the property alongside Jason Nadeau, described the home as “kitschy and sweet,” but acknowledged buyers may want to take on a full renovation.

The Native American-inspired murals on walls, ceilings and doors, while striking, may not suit all tastes.

Still, the cabin comes with undeniable charm. Beyond the secluded setting and circular driveway, the location is the real draw.

“To me, one of the most amazing features about it is the proximity to be inside in town, in Woodstock,” Polack said.

Pierson, 77, shares the home with her wife, artist Monica Coleman.

Though not their primary residence, the couple are no strangers to playful, nostalgia-driven real estate projects.

Over the years, they’ve run a string of retro-themed motels and rentals under the “Kate’s Lazy” brand, including “Kate’s Lazy Desert” in Joshua Tree, California, and “Kate’s Lazy Cape” in Cape Cod.

They sold another upstate New York venture — “Kate’s Lazy Lodging,” a 1952 motel outside Woodstock — for $2.25 million in 2021. That property moved in less than a month.

For fans, the cabin is more than just a fixer-upper: it’s a slice of rock history from a singer whose band helped define late-1970s and ’80s pop culture with hits like Love Shack, Roam, and Rock Lobster.

“It’s quaint. It’s kitschy. And it’s a bit of rock history,” Polack said.
